Full Nominations Announced For First Ever KA + GRM Daily ‘Rated Awards’

Last week, KA & GRM Daily announced the Rated Awards: a brand new music award ceremony to celebrate and recognise the best of British urban talent.

And with one month to go until what promises to be one of the most important nights in the urban music calendar, it’s time for the nominations to be unleashed! The categories for KA & GRM Daily’s Rated Awards have been put together in order to celebrate as many corners of urban talent as possible.

Awards to be given out on September 17 at the Clapham Grand include, Best Project, Best Breakthrough, Best Producer, the KA Get Rated Award and the GRM Legacy Award. This award will be presented to an individual who has well and truly cemented their position as a real stalwart of the scene, whose back catalogue and previous success proves they are nothing short of true legendary status.

JME has been nominated across four categories, including Best Track, Best Video, Artist of the Year and Best Project for ‘Integrity’ which earlier this year peaked at number 11 in the UK album charts independently. Krept & Konan have also had a fair few nominations including Artist of the Year, Best Video and Best Project.

Newcomers Bugzy Malone and Bonkaz managed to rack up two nominations each, which levelled them off with some of the scenes heavyweights including Tinie Tempah, Skepta and Ghetts who also received two nominations each.

The Personality of the Year award sees the likes of Big Narstie, KSI, Ashley Inkz, Kurupt FM, and Apple Beats 1 Presenter Julie Adenuga go head to head for the gong.

As well as all of the fan voted categories, a select industry panel will be choosing the winner of the Artist of the Year category, based on their achievements in the past year. A few nominees for this category include Ghetts, Stormzy, Skepta, Lethal Bizzle and Fekky.

Voting is now open for this years Rated Awards and fans can do so by heading over to www.ratedawards.com. All entries over 18 will also automatically get entered into a competition to win tickets to the star studded event held on September 17th at the Clapham Grand.
