Allee’s Playlist of the Month: January

“Some new, some old” is my favorite mantra for the New Year. Take the good with you and leave the bad at the door! So when thinking about what I wanted to include in this playlist I tried to incorporate the same concepts.  This year we have a lot to be grateful with finally getting Verge print in the US! To celebrate our arrival in the America’s this playlist is a giant melting pot of traditional American music like bluegrass, jazz, and re- imaginations of both! Some new… some old. Arguably our favorite album of last year was D’Angelo’s, December release of “Black Messiah” which is his first release since 2007. Mandolin protigee, Chris Thile and bass extraordinaire Edgar Meyer paired up again and their record “Bass & Mandolin” was a force to be reckoned with.  Artists you may not have heard of include, Joey Dosik and Borns who you will hopefully know all about after you listen to their tracks! And remember kids, the year is what you make of it!
