I think it’s safe to say “Summer has arrived!” The sun is finally out so we need to be organised and plan ahead to make sure we fully utilise our time in the sun (after all British summer time usually lasts a generous 7 days at the most!)

The Roof Gardens, Kensington
The Roof Gardens has been called a London landmark. The three gardens span 1.5 acres â€“ Over summer there is a whole array of events happening â€“ jazz on Tuesdays, “Â BBQ on Friday and Saturday nights and magicians and roasts on Sundays, just to name a few. Entrance to the gardens is free of charge, but itâ€™s usually best to call ahead to make sure they havenâ€™t been booked out for a wedding or event.

The Ivy Chelsea Garden, Chelsea
The Ivy Chelsea opened last summer and became a firm sunny favourite: and there is also the terrace at the new Ivy Brasserie on High Street Kensington, so youâ€™re spoilt for choice. Bein part of The Ivy family, youâ€™re in safe hands when it comes to food and drink. Cocktails and an all-day British menu are available in the alfresco space, which is adorned with fountains, climbing ivy and beautiful antique furniture abound, this the kind of place you will want to spend several hours.

Frankâ€™s Cafe, Peckham
Frankâ€™s CafÃ© is the hottest spot south of the river come summer. This cage is super cool and quirky it’s a multi-storey car park with cocktails and excellent sharing plates like buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese crÃ¨me fraiche and smoked paprika and parmesan-roasted corn. Be prepared for the masses as the whole of Shoreditch tends to descend on this place so the bar queue is usually huge.

The Lido CafÃ©, Herne Hill
The Lido CafÃ© in Brockwell Park is a favourite spots for many in south London when the sun is out. A good-sized terrace faces the swimmers and the parkâ€™s leafy back drop transporting you away from Hustle and bustle of London! Modern-British food is served all-day, making this a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Roka Canary Wharf’s offers a tasting menu which is literally every foodies dream. Dalston Roof Park,Â Dalton
Described as an â€˜urban utopian oasisâ€™ with views of the London’s trendy skyline. Membership for the season is Â£5, which grants you unlimited entry into the Roof Parkâ€™s events â€“ film screenings, music, street food and more. This place is more denim jeans than linen trousers so if you want a chilled and laid back scene this is it! Cool music and cooler people! Frequented by the likes of Lilly Allen and Pro Green!
