SPORTS DIRECT ON COURSE TO GIVE AWAY ONE MILLION SHIRTS IF ENGLAND WIN WORLD CUP

ENGLAND’S World Cup run has sparked an internet stampede that may see Sports Direct give away in excess of one million souvenir shirts if Gareth Southgate’s boys win the trophy.

The rush came after tycoon Mike Ashley vowed to give fans who register for the Sports Direct app a free FA official Three Lions shirt if England go all the way and win the tournament.

A spokesman for Sports Direct said today: “Football’s coming home! The whole country is being swept up by the jubilant mood. If things continue like this we are on course to give away in excess of a million shirts.”

England’s quarter-final victory over Sweden has already caused fans to flock to download the app – sending the Sports Direct app to No1 in Apple’s app store shopping category, ahead of competition from the likes of Amazon, Ebay, Wish and Shpock.

The souvenir shirts would feature the official Three Lions logo with the words ‘2018 Winners’ underneath, and will be available while stocks last. The app is still available via the Apple and Google app stores in the normal way.

The FREE FA Official Winners T-Shirt if England Win the World Cup is available when you Download and Register on the app. Terms and conditions apply to the offer – details available via app or at SportsDirect.com.
